Reverse ER Diagram
Role and RBAC
A visual diagram of tables and relationships generated by a GUI client (DBeaver) directly from the system catalog of a live DBMS (reverse engineering).
Security entities in PostgreSQL. Following the principle of least privilege, permissions are granted to roles (owner, app, readonly) rather than to individual users.
Schema (Schema / Namespace)
View (VIEW)
A named namespace for objects within a single database (for example, `CREATE SCHEMA game`), which separates service tables from system and external objects.
A saved named SQL query that behaves like a virtual table. It allows analysts to access aggregates while hiding sensitive fields.
pg_dump -Fc and pg_restore
Server-side COPY vs. client-side \copy
PostgreSQL logical backup tools: -Fc creates a compressed archive with a table of contents, and pg_restore restores it in its entirety or table by table.
Mechanism for batch exporting/importing tables (CSV). The \copy command in psql reads from and writes to a file on the client machine without superuser privileges.
